Welcome to my blog!


My name is Ying Peng, a master student majoring in Public Relations in University of Miami. I was born and raised in Sichuan Province, China. You might not have heard the place, it's the hometown of the panda bear, world-known Szechuan (Sichuan) cuisine, and many more attractive. You are very welcomed to my hometown and I believe it will be a wonderful experience!


I earned a Bachelor of Management in Public Administration in China Agricultural University in Beijing, China. Miami is my second lucky place, though I didn't even think about studying and living here one and half years ago. My interest in Communication motivates me in a pursuit of Public Relations education for my master's degree and educational background helps me place my thoughts on PR in public organizations, such as Non-profit organizations and government. My personal background makes me part of enrichment to the diversity in UM as well as PR industry in the US. Social Media, as a global trend of new media, gets super popular in China, people live on it and PR practitioners have started to utilize it strategically as an effective communication tool. Obviously interesting differences do exist between social media use here and there, which I will share with you in my future posts.


I am very glad that I finally started this blog, which is my first English blog writing about PR and Social Media. Actually I've been keeping blogging for five years, it is a Chinese blog on which I wrote about my life and random thoughts, very personal but of great fun. I LOVE to include pictures in my blog posts, like I often share with people my traveling experience with pictures I took at that place. Posts are usually bitter or sweet, but they are best written memories help me recall the time whenever I feel like to.  This blog will be more professional or academic about PR and Social Media, you will find something great and worth chewing on. But I will share my life and easy thoughts with images as well because that's what I got used to, in case you get bored. :-)
